HOT NEWS

This is your webmaster here. Also your Cafe iReporter. Have you seen those reports from iReporters on the web?
Seems like it is a fancy name for someone who was 'there' reporting on 'what they saw or heard'
So I have decided to try that.

Visit the CAFE MARKET, WEEKENDS 8-NOON. Bob Stanley, of Stanley Farm, will be selling his produce along with Jessica's Brick Oven Breads and chocolate chip cookies from "babycakes", the newest tenant at the Air Field. Nancy wants to showcase her suppliers and bakers so you can bring "a little piece of the Cafe" home with you. We hope to expand the offerings to maple syrup, cheeses and some of the Cafe staples such as dressings, croutons, hummus... Look for new items each week. (Our own Cloudland Farm firewood bundles anyone?)

Note from the the iReporter: Bob's food is super. I had some heirloom butter sugar corn last week, some peaches and apples this week. Also a fun guy to talk with. A farmer all his life and he loves it. I admit to being a little upset today - he had sold out of corn. Guess I need to get there earlier.

Check out the specials this weekend - I think we can thank Bob for the peach chicken.

CAFE CSA: Stanley Farms is seeking members for a Cafe CSA. For those unfamiliar, a CSA is "Community Supported Agriculture". Members pay a fee for a share of the farm's production, participating in times of abundance as well as the lean times. These programs help farmers share some of the risk of their profession while allowing these passionate providers of all things yummy to "do their thing". See Bob this weekend for details or email him at bobsjohndeere@gmail.com (what a great email for a farmer!).

Note: We will be open Labor Day Monday.

OK, maybe you were not expecting this on a Cafe website but here is Nancy's favorite guy. The sight of Don in his kilt just sends her heart into pitter patter mode!

Our thanks to Leo Hickey for taking this photo of Don.
